ADKIN’S JET TURBINE TRACTOR SLATED FOR MEADVILLE and CLEARFIELD THIS WEEK-END  

One of the most powerful modified tractors from the southern region of the United States will appear in Pennsylvania over the next week-end.  Brent Adkins from Statesboro, North Carolina will bring his “Sly, Slick and Wicked” Jet Turbine Super Modified Tractor to both of the USA-EAST pulls scheduled for next week-end.  On Friday evening, August 28th, the ultra-powerful machine will perform a special exhibition during the USA-EAST All American Tractor and Truck pull at the Crawford County Fair in Meadville, Pennsylvania.  And then on Saturday evening, August 29, Adkins will showcase the tractor during the 2nd annual Big Rigs EXPO at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

Adkins has also indicated that if all goes well the Jet Turbine will stay north and will participate with the NTPA Unlimited Modified Tractors at the Canfield Grand Nationals in Canfield, Ohio on Saturday, September 5th.  This may well be the only jet turbine tractor in the class at Canfield in 2009.

“Sly, Slick and Wicked” is a single turbine jet tractor that has been one of the top modified tractors in the Carolinas for many years.  The tractor was recently the winner of a division of the NTPA Regionals at Pine Tops, North Carolina and was the winner of the super modified class at Saluda, South Carolina just three weeks ago.  The tractor is powered by a Pratt and Whitney JFTC-12 Jet Turbine that will produce nearly 6000 horsepower when hooked to the sled.

The events at Meadville and Clearfield are sanctioned by USA-EAST Sled Pulling and are promoted by Full Pull Productions of Jamestown, Pennsylvania.
