FOR COMPLETE LIST OF PULLING DATES and CLASSES (click here)
For the first time in many years the sight of huge plumes of black diesel exhaust will flow over the Big Butler Fairgrounds in Prospect, Pennsylvania. A night of USA-EAST sanctioned tractor pulling has been scheduled for the 155th edition of the Big Butler Fair on Thursday, July 9th beginning at 7:00pm. Full Pull Productions, Inc. is the promoter and producer of the pulls at the Fair located on Route 422 just west of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Both divisions that are running for seasonal points within the USA-EASTsanctioned point series are scheduled for the Thursday evening session.
The combined Limited Pro and Super Farm Tractors will start the action as an expected field of over fifteen of the smaller ‘smoker’ tractors take to the track. All of the top tractors in this division reside within 75 miles of the Big Butler Fair and all will be gunning for this early season win at Butler. Nathan Graham from Greensburg, Pennsylvania is the defending champion with his Ford 9000 that is called the “Blue Reaper” while the runner-up a year ago was Larry Ferringer from Dayton, Pennsylvania and his “Smokin’ John” John Deere. The top red tractor in the previous season was Ross Martin’s Case-IH 7140 – “Runnin’ Red Warrior” from Enon Valley, Pennsylvania.
Second on the program for Thursday night will be the All-American “Smoker Series” featuring the 9500 pound Super Stock Tractors running head-to-head with the 10,000 pound Pro Stock Tractors. Kris Hoyt from eastern Pennsylvania grabbed the 2009 crown with a very well prepared Case 970 that is named “Nut Case”. The Hildenbrand Team from Ruffsdale in Westmoreland County will be a local favorite as they bring two of the top John Deere tractors to Butler. Russell will handle the “JD Express” (2nd in the points in 2009) and Fred will drive his awesome new “Slow Walkin’ John” to the event. Mark Bradish from Greensburg has one of the top Super Stock Tractors in the east as evidenced by his invitation to the prestigious Louisville Farm Machinery Show event last February. Bradish has turned the driving duties on the “Recycled Red” International over to his son Aaron.
Two other USA-EAST pulling events are scheduled for the Big Butler Fair in 2010. On Saturday, July 3rd the Semi Trucks and Big Rigs will pull while on Thursday, July 7th the modified 4x4 trucks will take to the track. Complete schedule information including classes can be found at www.fullpullproductions.com.
Fans will be very happy to know that the seats in the grandstand are included with their ‘Pay One Price’ admission to the Big Butler Farm in 2010. For more information on this Fair please check out: www.bigbutlerfair.com.
