BROOKVILLE’S KEYSTONE STATE NATIONAL PULLSET FOR JUNE 19TH

Special motel rates available to pullers/fans

One of the most popular USA-EAST sanctioned pulling events in central Pennsylvania is coming back for the 15th straight year to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds near Brookville.  The Keystone State National Tractor and Truck pull will be held on Saturday, June 19th beginning at 7:00pm.  This is Father’s Day week-end in 2010.

Last year’s pull was marred by the fact that a complete rain-out on Saturday night forced the entire pull to be moved to the Sunday afternoon rain-date.  However a beautiful sunny afternoon greeted the huge throng of pulls and another great crowd in the grandstands.

As has been the case for the past six years, the classes for the Keystone State Nationals will be:  Big Rigs Semis; ‘Run What Ya Brung’ 4x4 Trucks and Limited Pro Stock/Super Farm Tractors.  These three divisions are some of the most popular divisions of pulling with USA-EAST Sled Pulling.

The Limited Pro and Super Farm tractor division last year at the Keystone State Nationals was won by the father and son team of Ross and Ronny Martin from Enon Valley, Pennsylvania with their IH 7410 named “Runnin’ Red Warrior”.  Ryan Kirkpatrick from Rimersburg, Pennsylvania was second with the very powerful “Green Blooded” John Deere 6030 Super Farm machine.

The ‘Run What Ya Brung’ division a year ago at Brookville marked the first ever win for the Haisley Machine-built “Resurrected Ram” Dodge driven by Wayne Greier from Salem, Ohio.  Eric Berkey was second with his 1950 Chevrolet from Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  Those two trucks went on to finish one and two in the USA-EAST point race as Berkey grabbed the championship and Greier ended the ’09 campaign in second place in the points.

In the highly popular Big Rigs division a year ago, J.R. Collins from Painesville, Ohio took the victory with the “Buckeye Bulldog”, the reigning national champion with the NTPA Super Semi division.   Collins went on to capture another NTPA championship last season.  Second place was claimed by Bill Christ from Galion, Ohio with his 1150 cubic inch Cummins in a 1979 Kenworth named ‘Sticks and Stones’.

The Keystone State Nationals is sponsored locally by Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Brookville and by Sheetz Convenience stores.  The media sponsors in 2010 are MEGA Rock Radio of Brookville and WJAC-TV the NBC affiliate of Johnstown.  Advance tickets to this super pulling event are available at all local Sheetz stores.  And all advance sale tickets are sold at a discounted rate.

The Jefferson County Fair has also negotiated some very inexpensive motel rates in and around the Brookville area for this week-end.   The management of the Jefferson County Fair has announced ‘special’ rates that are now available at I-80 - Exit 78 motels for this year’s pulling event.  These rates are open to owners of pulling vehicles and to interested fans on a “first-come – first-served” basis.  Most of these motels do have parking for large haulers – please check when making reservations.  You must call the numbers listed here (not the toll-free 800 number) in order to get these local rates.  These rates are not available on line.  Just mention that you are coming to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds for the pulling event in order to get these unbelievably low rates.
