“WARRIOR” TAKES BUNKER HILL ‘SHOOT OUT’

Ross Martin of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania took another giant step toward the 2010 USA-EAST Point Championship in the Limited Pro and Super Farm division with a hard-fought victory on Friday evening in Beloit, Ohio.  This event marked the first time that the combined tractor class had competed for points at the ”Bunker Hill Shoot-out”, promoted by the Goshen Center Ruritan Club.  Martin’s “Runnin’ Red Warrior”, an International 7140 was the only tractor to get near to the full pull line with a mark of 296.8.  Martin and his father, Ron Martin along with uncle Rick Martin for the nucleus of this very strong pulling team.  Their Super Farm now sits atop the USA-EAST point race and is looking to be the first SF to win the crown since Mark Bell and his John Deere “FireFox” turned the trick. A huge crowd that jam-packed the roadways in and around the Salem, Ohio area was greeted by a beautiful night of pulling and a tremendous field of pullers for the USA-EAST Sanctioned event.

This is the first year that Full Pull Productions and the USA-EAST Sanctioning body have helped to promote this ever growing venue that is located just south of Canfield, Ohio. Taking the runner-up position was Tim Pugliese from Avonmore, Pennsylvania with the John Deere 6030 named “Deere Friend”.  This was Pugliese’ best finish of the  season and showed that yet another John Deere is going to be a factor in the final weeks of the season.  Pugliese has had clutch issues throughout the 2010 campaign and recently installed an entirely new clutch that seems to have paid off for the long-time Super Farm competitor.

The Kachurik Team from Cortland, Ohio has struggled throughout the past two season but made a sold pass at Bunker Hill to finish third with their “Strugglin’” International 1466 with John Kachurik on the controls.  Two nearly identical Fords finished 4th and 5th as Todd Wright put “Heavy Metal” in top five and Nathan Graham, the 2009 USA-EAST champ had to settle for fifth with “Blue Reaper”. The pull also marked the first pull of 2010 for the all-new “Hard 2 Handle” IH 1466 of the Aguradakas and Hinkle Team from Malvern, Ohio.  This tractor had been a very competitive Super Farm up until last season and was completely rebuilt into a Limited Pro Stock Tractor for the 2010 campaign.  Construction problems had delayed the introduction of the new machine until the Bunker Hill event.  Look for this tractor to perform well once they get it ‘dialed in’.

The Goshen Center Ruritans are a non-profit organization that raise money through events such as the tractor pulls and other fund raisers to assist local students in the form of scholarships, local families in need and local safety forces.  The Ruritans are always accepting new members to their organization.

Full Pull Productions is the largest private promoter of sanctioned tractor and truck pulling in the eastern United States and is the parent company of the USA-EAST Sanctioning body.  Over the past twelve years the Goshen Center Ruritan club has worked side-by-side with Full Pull Productions on the production of the annual Canfield Open Tractor and Truck Pull at the Canfield Fair near Youngstown, Ohio.

The Limited Pros and Super Farms will next take to the track at the USA-EAST sanctioned pull at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Meadville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 21 at 6:00pm.  This is the opening night of the largest fair in northwestern Pennsylvania and the pull will feature six action-packed pulling classes on two side-by-side tracks.
