SHAZZAM

GETS FIRST 2011 WIN AT FAYETTE COUNTY FAIR

Ted Giovanelli has been very consistant this season.  He has placed his International tractor in second place – in third place and in fourth place and his tractor is currently number three in the USA-EAST point race.  But that first victory of the season has eluded the Fredericktown, Pennsylvania puller.  But on Monday night at the Fayette County Fair in Dunbar, Ted was much the best as he pushed “Shazzam” to an exciting victory over fifteen very powerful rivals from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.  And nine of those rivals made the pull-off against the Bushwacker Sled from Dragon Motor Sports.  “Shazzam” is an International 1066 Super Farm Tractor that was built by the Giovanelli Team from Fredericktown, located along the Mon River near Brownsville.  The tractor is sponsored by Mon River Aggregates and by Giovanelli Excavating.

The evening at Fayette County proved to be a ‘super farm night’ as three of the top four tractors were of the super farm variety.  Merle Harr from Latrobe was nearly a first-time winner with the “Devil Dog” International, but had to settle for second place on this night.   The current USA-EAST point leader, Mark Bell from Mount Pleasant, PA finished third with his super farm named “FireFox” while the top-running Limited Pro (“Smokin’ John”) was in 4th place for Gregg Ferringer from Dayton, Pennsylvania.

Now with ten days to regroup the Limited Pros and Super Farms will next take to the track on Friday, August 12th for the second time at the Bunker Hill Shoot-Out near Beloit, Ohio.  That pull gets underway at 7:00pm and the tractors will get to test the Rick Crouse sled for the first time in 2011.
