GRAHAM’S “BLUE REAPER” TAKES ’09 LIMPRO CROWN
The first USA-EAST Championship for 2009 has been determined as the combined class for Limited Pro Stock Tractors and Super Farm Tractors ended their season at the Canfield Fair in Ohio on Saturday, September 5th. Nathan Graham of Greensburg captured his first-ever regional championship with the “Blue Reaper” Ford 9000 Limited Pro Stock Tractor. Graham’s 540 cubic inch Genesis engine was originally built at Forrester Farm Equipment in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The “Blue Reaper” Team also relies on Cen.Pe.Co. Lubricants to keep the incredibly powerful engine running smoothly through the season.
Nathan truly works to make the pulling sport a ‘family affair’ as he is almost always accompanied to the events with his wife Karen and their 10 year old daughter, Kayla. He is the Vice-President of Graham Dairy Supply in Westmoreland County - a company that installs and repairs automatic milking machines and equipment.
The “Blue Reaper” started off slowly in 2009, but then took the top points position at the Clarion County Fair in New Bethlehem at the end of July and received third place points at the Fayette County Fair in Dunbar just a couple of days later. A super run at the Crawford County Fair in Meadville in late August propelled the ‘Reaper’ into the top spot in the points. But breakage at a non-point event later that week put the championship in jeopardy as the motor had to be completely rebuilt prior to the Canfield event. Nathan credits all of the help from the Forrester machine shop for getting his tractor repaired in time to allow him to grab a third place at Canfield and ultimately the 2009 USA-EAST championship.
