LINK’S “GON’ MOKIN” BACK IN SMOKER TOP SPOT  

Ray Link from Patton, Pennsylvania has been the champion in the All-American “Smoker Series” in the past.  Link’s beautiful John Deere Pro Stock tractor claimed the number one position with USA-EAST back in 2007, but has had to settle for the runner-up spot twice in the past five years – 2008 and 2010.  But this year the venerable Link brought his championship calibur machine back to the top spot to claim the championship once again.

The lone win of 2011 for the “Gon’ Mokin” Team came at their hometown pull in Clearfield, Pennsylvania – a venue that has been very good to the central Pennsylvania team.  But Link managed to take a top five USA-EAST finish in each and every event in the season point race to stay ahead of the pack in the combined Pro Stock and Super Stock division.

To regain the championship this year Ray Link had to overcome some unbelievable personal issues after a life-threatening agricultural accident in the summer of 2009.  The win this season was a testament to the old adage:  “You must believe!”  Congratulations to Ray Link and his entire team.
