DeBENEDICTUS & ‘REAL DEAL’ TAKE HOMETOWN WIN

GILDERSLEEVE PADS 2.6 DIESEL POINT LEAD

Bill DeBenedictus from Mentor, Ohio reached the top of the USA-EAST Pro Stock Diesel Truck division on Wednesday night with a very solid win at the Lake County Fair in Painesville, Ohio.  This was the first win of the season for “The Real Deal” Dodge and the win could not have been any more sweet due to the fact that this is the hometown for the team.  Matt Kahle, one of the crewmen for the “Real Deal” summed it up with just one word ‘SWEEEEEEET’!!!

The “Real Deal” had been a solid second a week ago at Pittsfield, Pennsylvania and was certainly the improving truck on the USA-EAST circuit coming into the Lake County Fair pull.  DeBenedictus chose to miss the hook in Smethport, Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening in order to concentrate on the hometown pull and the planning and hard work paid off as “The Real Deal” made the only full pull of the class to put away thirteen adversaries.

Dodge was dominant at Painesville as all of the top five Pro Stock trucks were Cummins-powered.  Second went to the winner on Friday night, Joe Gambino and “Brother’s Diesel” from Springville, New York while Jared Hamilton from Plainfield, Ohio enjoyed his best finish of 2010 as the third place truck.  The current point leader, John Lorenz and “Gray Wolfe” from Dover, Ohio had to settle for 4th place and Sam Tatalovic from Guys Mills, Pennsylvania ended fifth with “Gone Wild”.

Casey Gildersleeve from Jefferson, Ohio had another outstanding night of pulling with his “Wasted Wages” Dodge as the team claimed another win at the Lake County Fair to allow them to extend their USA-EAST point lead in the Street Licensed (2.6) Diesel 4x4 division.  Seven trucks made the pull off in Painesville on Wednesday evening against the highly skilled Joe Singer and the “Palestine Dyno” weight transfer.    Bryan Whinnery from Salem, Ohio put his Dodge in the runner-up spot and newcomer John Savage ended in third place with a smooth running 6.6 Duramax in a Chevrolet.2

The Painesville Lake County Fair event was sponsored in part by Cen.Pe.Co. Lubicants of Cleveland, Ohio.  Regional representative Scott Sell from Chagrin Falls, Ohio was on hand to work with the pullers on proper lubrication techniques using the high-quality products from the  Central Petroleum Company.

Both the Pro Stock Diesels and the Street 2.6 Diesels are back in action on Saturday evening at 6:00pm at the Crawford County Fair in Meadville, Pennsylvania.  This pull will feature all of the major divisions including trucks, tractors and semi trucks in an all-out pulling extravaganza.
