The PRO STREET GASOLINE 4x4 TRUCKS came into existence in 2010 and this class has evolved to become one of the new and powerful forces in the truck pulling sport.  The class took the place of the former 6200lb. OPEN STREET LICENSED GASOLINE 4x4 TRUCK class and is basically offered to the high-powered street level truck puller.

The 454 Chevrolet and the 460 Ford engines along with the 440 Mopar are the dominators in this class that runs at 6500 pounds. Diesel trucks have been restricted from this class since 2007 and thus the class is strictly for gasoline 4x4s. Front end weights are permitted in the class – another change from the strictly street licensed 4x4 trucks.

The champion in 2011 was the beautiful 1939 Chevrolet owned and operated by George Nichelson from Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.  Nichelson was ultra-consistent through the season with just one finish out of the top five in 2011.  A 540 cubic inch GM plant powers the very popular silver machine down the track.  Nichelson is the owner of Pleasant Valley Auto in Mount Pleasant.  The runner-up was Mark Petros from Herminie, PA (‘Public Enemy’) with a 440 cubic inch Dodge.

Local owners of the 6500lb. gasoline-powered pick-up trucks are welcome to enter the PRO STREET GASOLINE class when it comes to their town, but they will have to face some very formidable trucks that will be following the entire season of events.

All trucks that are “running for the points” must be members of the USA-EAST sanctioning body in order to collect series’ points. See www.USA-EAST.com for membership information.
