The STREET LICENSED GASOLINE 4x4 TRUCKS are sometimes referred to as “Street Stock” trucks. But that does not do justice to this very competitive group of high-powered 4x4 trucks. While the trucks must be licensed for the highway and must still carry insurance, many of these very competitive vehicles do not spend very much time at all on the highways. Owners have built special trucks for one purpose only – SLED PULLING. The 2006 season was the first year that this class was sanctioned under the Full Pull Production’s banner – USA-EAST.   Brian Cox and “Samson” was the champion that year.

But in 2007 there was a ‘new sheriff in town’ as Mark Petros from Herminie, Pennsylvania in Westmoreland County powered to the championship.  Petros’ long wheel base Dodge with 440 cubic inch Mopar power was dominating throughout the run to the crown as the big yellow truck captured the first place trophy at nearly all of the events in the series, including a win at the USA-EAST ‘Finals’ at Mercer Raceway Park in mid-September.  And in honor of his run at Mercer Raceway Park, Petros had his truck completely re-painted for the occasion.

The 454 Chevrolet and the 460 Ford engines along with the 440 Mopar are the dominators in this class of trucks that are somewhat restricted due to the very light weight of 6200lbs. that is the norm for the class. Diesel trucks were restricted from this class in 2007 and thus the class is strictly for gasoline 4x4s. And because of the weight, there are no dual-wheel trucks in this class.

Local owners of the 6200lb. gasoline-powered pick-up trucks are welcome to enter this class when it comes to their town, but they will have to face some very formidable trucks that will follow the entire circuit of events in the following seasons to see just who will be crowned the number one OPEN STREET LICENSED GASOLINE 4x4 TRUCK in the eastern United States. All trucks that are “running for the points” must be members of the USA-EAST sanctioning body in order to collect series’ points. See www.USA-EAST.com for membership information.
