The Modified 4x4 Truck and the ‘Run What Ya Brung’ Series brings one of the most important elements in the sport of truck pulling to the fans. And that element is the age-old question of which fuel is the best for truck pulling??? GAS or DIESEL??? This division of pulling that is sanctioned by USA-EAST is open to all types of trucks and while there are rules – the class is designed as a wide open truck pulling extravaganza with BOTH diesel and gas trucks welcome to participate. For 2009 the point championship went to the 1950 Chevrolet driven by Eric (Todd) Berkey from Rockwood in Somerset County. This 600+ cubic inch GM machine on gasoline was very dominant in 2009 taking home a total of five wins in the class. Ron Cuttrell of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania is the crew chief on the perfectly prepared bright yellow machine. There are many differences that make the class exciting. Trucks with gasoline for fuel are permitted to run the big block engines with any Cast Iron OEM Block, or any Cast Iron OEM race or OEM reproduction performance block permitted. This produces awesome power and creates the ultimate big block class of competition. And trucks with diesel engines are permitted to run twin turbo chargers and special fuel pumps to produce awesome power on the track. Diesel Trucks taking on Gasoline Trucks in a 300 foot ‘free-for-all’ – that is the essence of the RWYB Modified Truck division, promoted exclusively by Full Pull Productions, Inc. and sanctioned by USA-EAST Sled Pulling.
