OPEN 2.6 DIESEL 4x4 TRUCKS

This class changed quite a bit in 2010 when the rules of NADM (National Association of Diesel Motor Sports) were utilized for the first time.  These street licensed diesel trucks are now permitted to hang weights on the front of the truck.  All trucks that are “running for the points” must be members of the USA-EAST sanctioning body in order to collect 2012 series’ points.

Another change for 2012 will bring a new name for the street licensed diesel 4x4 class that will now be called:  OPEN 2.6 DIESEL 4x4 TRUCKS.

This is sometimes called a “street stock” class but the trucks that will compete are usually NOT merely stock trucks.  Owners use all kinds of techniques to make their trucks perform well beyond the level of stock trucks.  With the advent of “chip technology” a mild-mannered street machine can become an awesome street monster in a matter of hours.

Corrie Baker and her husband Caleb were the champions in this division with their Chevrolet Duramax named “Girls Night Out”.    The “Girl’s Night Out” Pulling Team started the 2011 season with Corrie behind the wheel of the Duramax powered 2004 Chevrolet, but by mid-August Caleb had to take over the driving duties.  By that time Corrie had amassed a sizeable point lead in the USA-EAST 2.6 Diesel 4x4 division.  And the deal was sealed by Caleb with some great top tive finishes to round out the season.

The runner-up in 2011 was the Dodge of Josh Hunter from Salem, Ohio named “Bad Company”.

All trucks that are “running for the points” must be members of the USA-EAST sanctioning body in order to collect 2012 series’ points.  See www.USA-EAST.com for membership information.
